God wants to use to draw us to Himself. If we understand that difference then our sadness can be useful. Normal sadness has an identifiable cause and a beginning. The intensity of the sadness is related the size of the problem we
face. It generally resolves when the problem ends or we adapt to it. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 7:10 “For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.”One goal of “Good Mood Bad Mood is to help the reader to tell the difference between normal sadness and our current definition of depression. If we understand that much then many people can find
the way out of a sad mood and into a life “without regret.” Next time we will talk about the purpose and use of sadness from a biblical viewpoint.
